Use RWA to reorganize files while applications are in use Complete ROI often comes in one use
RWA reorganize files during business hours and doesn’t indispose users by forcing them to log off like IBM’s RGZPFM utility. Reorganizing files at user-scheduled intervals improves system performance and eliminates unnecessary DASD purchases. RWA is especially useful with large, heavily used files that take several hours to reorganize. Click for Demonstration.
Real-time monitoring during the reorganization process keeps technicians informed. RWA analyzes designated files and generates a report that flags files needing reorganization. Acceptable thresholds are user defined.
Copied and reorganized files are kept synchronized to the production environment. As changes are made to files in the production environment, they are also made to the copied file in the reorganization environment. This process continues until a final file swap is performed.
The synchronized and reorganized file is then swapped with the production file in moments when no other user or process has allocation of the production file. The non-reorganized production file is either deleted or moved to another library based on command parameters.
